Values
  1. We value the Word of God to be our foundation, center and guide in everything. (Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16; Colossians 3:16; 1 Peter 1:22-2:3). Education that will endure the challenges of life must be grounded in something that lasts. Only the Word of God remains constant. We desire to build our education on the Bible. We desire for it to be not only a major subject, but also give direction to every subject area and to guide all our interaction and behavior.

  2. We value a community of parents & teachers in like-mindedness in faith. (John 17:20-26; 1 Timothy 4:6-16). Education is most effective when parents, administration, and faculty have common beliefs and values and work in harmony to achieve them. We desire to team up with parents who share a common Christian philosophy of education with us.

  3. We value training students to be disciples of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20). Since Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God, commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is essential for a wise life. We teach salvation as a gift from God for all who repent of sin and believe in Christ alone. We desire that students' salvation produce a life devoted to the honor of Jesus Christ. Since Christ is the creator and sustainer of all things, and all things are designed for His glory, we desire for students to acknowledge and strive to glorify Christ in everything.

  4. We value local church commitment. (Ephesians 4:1-32) . The local church is God's ordained institution for promoting the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Bloomsburg Christian School must not usurp the place of local churches. We require our teachers to faithfully demonstrate commitment to their church and encourage students and their families to be committed to a local Bible teaching church.

  5. We desire the involvement of parents. (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Ephesians 6:1-4). The responsibility of the education of children belongs to parents. We desire to be an extension and assistant to the home. We need the support and backing of parents and interaction between parents and teachers. Calvary Baptist Church reserves the right to establish the policies and direction of the School.

  6. We value a distinctively Christian Philosophy of Education. (Colossians 1:28-2:10). We desire to implement a thoroughly Biblical view of education, and not an education based on the principles of the world. We want to continually sharpen our understanding of God's truth, goodness and beauty.

  7. We value Biblical Standards of Excellence. (Philippians 4:8; Colossians 1:9-10; 3:17,23; Ephesians 6:6-8). We desire students to strive for the very best. We want students to conduct themselves with behavior honoring to Christ. We strive for our school family to seek the glory of God in everything. We reject the view that God does not care about externals, and reject the view that there are no standards of excellence. We seek to embody the excellence of Christ in all we do.
