Welcome to Bloomsburg Christian School

GREETINGS FROM THE PASTOR AND SUPERINTENDENT

Dear Parents:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 One of the ominous signs of our day is a declining respect for others and the absence of "the fear of the Lord." Many young people grow up thinking they can do whatever they want as long as they can get away with it. Academic standards have slipped in many public schools. Behavioral problems abound and make learning difficult. We desire, plan and pray for different outcomes at Bloomsburg Christian School.

Since 1973 it has been the privilege of Calvary Baptist Church to provide the education at Bloomsburg Christian School as a service to local parents who share our vision for Christian Education. We are enthusiastic as we look forward to a new year.

Our goal has been not only to train students with academic knowledge, but also to form character around the glory of Jesus Christ. Our program arises from the acknowledgement that we cannot improve on our own. We need Christ to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. We do not merely teach a moral program at BCS. We teach that embracing Jesus Christ is absolutely essential for a wise life. Students will learn this from every aspect of school, whether it be Science class, English class, Basketball team, or Chapel. Our staff is devoted to the glory of Christ in everything.

If you are considering BCS, I trust this site will give you an orientation to our program. We encourage you to consider our mission, values and policies to determine if we share common goals for the education of children.

For the Glory of Christ,

Pastor Tim Smith

Pursuing Wisdom

The Goals of God's Refining Fire
"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
James 1:2-4

"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today."
